Data sources

Specification and recall data is sourced from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) public databases (vPIC and recalls). We present that public data and link to the official record where available. We do not guarantee that the data is current, complete, or error-free, and NHTSA data may itself contain gaps or inaccuracies.

Recalls and complaints

We display official manufacturer recall campaigns as recorded by NHTSA. Where consumer complaints are shown, they are clearly labeled as unverified reports and do not constitute a finding of any defect. To confirm the repair status of a specific vehicle, use NHTSA’s VIN-level recall tool.

No professional advice

Nothing here is legal, financial, safety, or purchasing advice. A vehicle history report from a licensed provider is required for accident, title, and ownership information, which is not available from a VIN.
