Power Stroke is Ford’s diesel line for the Super Duty trucks. The current 6.7L “Scorpion” V8 followed the 6.0L and 6.4L; the original 7.3L Power Stroke (1994–2003) is the legendary one enthusiasts hunt for; and a 3.0L V6 Power Stroke was offered briefly in the F-150.

Is the 7.3 in my truck a Power Stroke or the gas Godzilla?
Decode the VIN and read the fuel type. A 1994–2003 7.3L on a Super Duty is the Power Stroke diesel; the 2020+ 7.3L “Godzilla” is a gasoline V8. The fuel field settles it immediately.
